Baskets are very traditional, but many facilities will not allow rose petals indoors, because they stain carpets.  Some facilities will not allow silk petals outdoors, because they are not bio-degradable.  Be sure and check with your venue on their policy about fresh petals, or silk petals. Pomander balls are great for young flower girls to carry, because they can slip their hands in the ribbon, to carry the hanging floral ball.  This keeps little hands in one place while walking down an aisle.  Small nosegays are good for older flower girls, and many brides are having their flower girls wear head garlands, designed with pearls, and rhinestones and carry mini bouquets.
